After-hours emergencies are shared between four local vet clinics - Bonny Hills, Timbertown Vet Hospital, Wauchope Vet Clinic and Sovereign Vets. This is to ensure that all our vets get time off, as they work normal business hours on top of providing after-hours care.
Normally, only one vet is on duty for all four clinics, so they can get quite busy.
We ask that you phone the normal clinic number (6584 8808) to be given options for after-hours advice. If your pet is very unwell or has suffered an accident, you will be directed to phone VetChat - our after hours triage service. You will be given advice by one of their vets, and, if necessary, the local on-call vet will then contact you to make arrangements to meet at that particular clinic. ** Note that VetChat is a paid triage service, so there will be a fee. Upon arrival, your pet will be assessed by a veterinarian who will aim to provide an estimate of the costs involved with your case. However, please be aware that with emergency procedures costs can vary depending on what services and treatments are required. The vet will keep you updated regularly during the course of your pet's stay in hospital.
In some cases, we may need to refer to a veterinary specialist centre or 24-hour emergency facility.
